THE DEMAND
Growing to Meet the Growing Demand
By 2030, there will be 73.1 million individuals 65+ and older, meaning that adults will outnumber children for the first time in our country’s history. This generational shift will have echoing impacts on our healthcare system, economy, and government.

According to NICMAP Vision, by 2030, our country will need over 806,000 new senior care residences to meet the need. That means every life plan community in the US will have to add 420 new residences to maintain the current utilization.

According to the US Census Bureau, 16.5% of those 55+ are childless, making familial support and care more difficult to access.
1 in 9
The Alzheimer’s Association reports that 1 in 9 adults 65+ are living with dementia.

According to the AARP Public Policy Institute, 69% of working caregivers caring for a family member or friend report having to rearrange their work schedule, decrease their hours, or take unpaid leave to meet their caregiving responsibilities.

According to the Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS), fewer than 4% of homes offer the three most critical home features for “aging in place ready” and The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control reports that nearly 30% of adults 65+ in Michigan fall every year.
1/3
The National Library of Medicine indicates that more than 1/3 (35%) of adults 45+ report feeling lonely, and research suggests that social isolation is associated with increased rates of mortality, dementia, heart disease, stroke, anxiety, and depression.
Simply put, there will not be enough resources to provide high-quality, compassionate care to aging adults who deeply deserve it. We are working to change that, helping people navigate wellness as they age and take advantage of all the resources available to them
A Different Way of Aging
Today’s seniors are looking to age much differently than the generations before them. They prioritize maintaining their independence, staying socially engaged, exploring new hobbies, and living healthy lifestyles. Many are hoping to age in place or in vibrant communities that offer many experiences beyond care, looking to optimize the later years of life. They are also living longer and encountering health and living challenges that previous generations haven’t
